[19:53] As a new or experienced speaker enhancing your presentation skills requires you to step out of your comfort zone. While this move is never easy, Linda Allen, the author of "Don't Get Comfortable," from the February 2010 issue of the Toastmaster, offers tips to make it a smooth transition.

Please Note: The connection for this interview was very poor, and heavy editing had to be done.  This makes it sound as if we are talking over each other and being rude to our guest! We apologize for this, but felt the content was still worth publishing regardless of the poor quality of the sound and how bad it makes us look as interviewers.

My Comment is Ryan how many times did you Interupt that lady while she was speaking. You guys laughed about the subject. I thought it was a good subject, and you guys kept interupting the conversation. I know you have your nice IPAD and equipment there and I know you have a hard on for saying toastmasters 100 times per 5 minutes, but Ryan I thought your video podcast was rude. Bo none of this comment is directed towards you although you smirked on the subject. You guys obviously lack experiences to understand what she was trying to talk about, and I appreciate her help and insite. She is right a 100%. Next time you have Linda Allen on the show let her speak more. Ryan that was hideous the way you kept coming into the conversation like that seemingly like you knew what she is talking about. Its like your comfort zone, your fired Ryan, and I am the Host of the Show, how would you feel? Only if you were home all week, and saw then you can understand. Im watching the toastmasters show thanks Bo, Ryan that was disgusting the way you smirked like that. Maybe you ought to do podcasts without doing video podcasts because appearance?, I thought I was bad.
Thanks for Reading

Hi guys,

Great podcast. Love listening to it every week. I know how hard it is (being a podcaster myself) to make sure that guests sounds good, but on Ep #24 it was just horrible. I couldn't hear Linda at all (I was listening to the podcast while walking outside, so it was a bit noisy), and the fact that her voice was distorting didn't help at all. If you can, please look into improving the quality of recordings. Maybe you can look at making your guests use Skype or atleast making sure they have decent handsets/headsets with their phones.

Njoy,

-Chinmay

Regarding the audio quality of Ms. Linda Allen on Show #024 - We podcasters can only control equipment and quality on our end but it's very difficult to control the far end. Usually interview subjects are on $10 mic or mics built into their laptops. They also cannot monitor or hear what they are sounding like, to correct the situation on their own. Once recorded, there is not much processing of their audio that we can perform to enhance quality.

Subjects may also be on the road or talking from hotel rooms, no different than foreign correspondents in hostile territory.

I guess we should be happy we captured them for the interview, considering their hectic schedules.
Great Job Bo & Ryan. The video touch is exemplary !

Technical issues aside, I couldn't agree with your guest Linda E. Allen more.  In order to grow it's important to keep challenging ourselves which means never getting too comfortable and the willingness to step out of our comfort zone.

Another terrific guest.  Thanks Bo and Ryan for the podcast.
